Website design and development
Website design and development built around how your customers decide.
A good website looks right, loads fast and turns visitors into conversations, and that only happens when design, development, content and tracking are planned together rather than passed down a line of vendors.
What's included
Here is what a website project can include.
Some clients need a full rebuild and others need a few templates and a faster site, so we scope each project to the work that will actually move your numbers.
Discovery and site planning
We review your analytics, your competitors and your customers' questions, then map the pages and paths the site needs before anyone opens a design file.
Information architecture
We organize the navigation and page structure so visitors and search engines can find what they're looking for without hunting.
User experience and design
Our designers build page layouts and a component system in your brand, and you review them at real screen sizes before development begins.
Development
We build on the platform that fits your team, whether that's WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace or a custom static site, with clean code and fast load times.
Content and copywriting
When you need new copy or photography, our content partners write and produce it alongside the design so pages aren't designed around placeholder text.
Search foundations
Every page ships with a title tag, meta description, heading structure, schema and redirects from your old URLs, so a relaunch doesn't cost you the rankings you already have, and our SEO team can keep building on them after launch.
Analytics and conversion tracking
We set up GA4, form and call tracking and your CRM connection before launch, so you can see what the site produces from the first day.
Care and maintenance
After launch we can keep the site updated, secure and backed up, and make content changes when you need them.
How it connects
A website works best when the people driving traffic to it helped build it.
Your site is where your brand, your ads, your press coverage and your email all send people, so it should be planned with those channels in mind. Because Drystone's brand, paid media, content and analytics specialists work on the same team as the web developers, the landing pages are ready for the campaigns and the tracking is ready for the reporting before the site goes live.
How it runs
Every website project moves through four stages.
- 01
Plan
We agree on goals, audiences, the sitemap and the platform, and you approve the plan before design starts.
- 02
Design
We design the key templates in your brand and test them at desktop, tablet and phone sizes with you.
- 03
Build
Developers build the site on a staging link you can click through, while content is written and loaded alongside them.
- 04
Launch
We set up redirects, tracking and search basics, launch the site, and then watch performance closely through the first weeks.
Who it's for
This work fits organizations whose website has fallen behind them.
- Your site is slow, hard to update or looks dated next to your competitors.
- You've rebranded, and the website is the last place the old brand still lives.
- Traffic is fine, but very few visitors call, book or fill out a form.
- You're launching a new service, location or campaign and need pages built to support it.
We build sites for companies, nonprofits and healthcare organizations across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Clients usually come to us when they want one team responsible for the design, the build, the content and the tracking, instead of managing four vendors who each own a piece.
Questions
Here are the questions we hear most about websites.
How long does a new website take?
A focused site with a handful of templates can be ready in a matter of weeks, while a large site with custom features and a content migration takes longer. We'll give you a stage-by-stage timeline with the proposal.
What platform will you build on?
We'll recommend the platform that suits your team and your budget, and we work in WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace and custom static builds, so the recommendation isn't driven by what we happen to know.
Will we lose our search rankings when we relaunch?
Not if the move is planned properly, which is why we map every old URL to a new one, carry over your titles and content where they're working, and monitor search traffic closely after launch.
Can we update the site ourselves?
Yes, we set the site up so your team can edit pages and publish posts without a developer, and we train whoever will be doing it.
What happens after launch?
You can take the site in-house, or we can stay on for maintenance, updates and ongoing improvements on a monthly or as-needed basis.
